Instagram-worthy glass sculptures are coming to Gardens by the Bay

Come May, there'll be another activity to add to your SingapoRediscovers itinerary. American artist Dale Chihuly, a trailblazer in his work with blown glass, is gear up to present his commencement major garden exhibition in Asia at none other than Singapore's iconic Gardens by the Bay.

Dale Chihuly: Drinking glass in Bloom will take place from May 1 to Aug i, and will characteristic 25 large-scale installations, besides as more than 80 pedestal sculptures and two-dimensional works.

The sculptures volition be shipped directly from Seattle, and will be installed on site in Gardens by the Bay'due south Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and outdoor gardens.

Chihuly is an award-winning, multi-media artist known for his installations in museums, gardens, and public spaces around the globe. While this is the artist's beginning formal garden exhibition in Asia, Chihuly'due south work has long had a local presence, being permanently displayed at Resorts World Sentosa and at the Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore.

Exhibition highlights for Glass in Bloom include Setting Sun, and Moon, a large spherical installation which was last presented in the artist'due south landmark exhibition, Chihuly in the Lite of Jerusalem 2000.

Visitors will also see Ethereal White Persians at the Serene Garden, and Cloud Forest Persians, a study in scale and translucency which debuted in 2022 at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, in London.
